Terms of Service

Welcome to Jiatte. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Jiatte LLC ("Jiatte," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Jiatte mobile application (the "App").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Who May Use Jiatte

You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 16 years old, that you meet all eligibility requirements, and that you have not been previously suspended or removed from Jiatte.

If you are under the age of 18, you represent that you have reviewed these Terms with a parent or legal guardian who agrees to them on your behalf.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information when you register

  • Keeping your password secure and confidential

  • All activity that occurs under your account

3. Your Content

You own what you create. You retain ownership of the content you post to Jiatte — your posts, photos, videos, prayers, comments, and messages ("Your Content").

License to operate the App. By posting Your Content, you grant Jiatte a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have shared or where retention is legally required.

You are responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the right to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or anyone else's rights.

4. Community Rules

Jiatte is built to be a place where people can grow. To keep it that way, you agree not to post or do the following:

  • Post content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, or abusive

  • Post sexually explicit content or content that sexualizes any person

  • Bully, intimidate, stalk, or target any individual or group

  • Post content that promotes self-harm, suicide, disordered eating, or substance abuse

  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone

  • Share private information about another person without their permission

  • Post spam, scams, or misleading commercial content

  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access

  • Use automated tools to scrape, collect, or interact with the App

  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose

Special note on minors. Any conduct that endangers, exploits, or sexualizes a minor is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and, where required by law, reporting to the appropriate authorities.

5. Reporting and Moderation

The App provides tools to report content and block other users. We review reports and may, at our discretion:

  • Remove or restrict content

  • Issue warnings

  • Suspend or terminate accounts

  • Report unlawful activity to authorities

We are not obligated to monitor all content, but we reserve the right to review and act on content that comes to our attention.

6. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The App itself — including its name, logo, design, features, and software — is owned by Jiatte LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App without our written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services (including Supabase, Mux, and Apple) to function. Your use of the App may also be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

8. Termination

You may stop using Jiatte at any time and delete your account from within the App.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. Where reasonable, we will provide notice.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — will survive.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Jiatte is not a substitute for professional advice. Content on Jiatte — including content shared by other users about faith, personal struggles, health, or recovery — is not medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice. If you are in crisis or need help, please contact a qualified professional or an appropriate emergency or support service in your area.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content posted by other users is accurate or appropriate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jiatte LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jiatte LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
