Jiatte LLC ("Jiatte," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Jiatte mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Age Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use Jiatte. Jiatte is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a user under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ross.mcc2008@gmail.com.
Because some of our users may be minors under the age of 18, we design our data practices with their protection in mind, including limiting the information we collect and giving users control over what they share.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
Account information: your name, email address, username, and password
Profile information: your profile photo, bio or testimony, and any details you choose to add
Content you post: text posts, photos, videos, comments, reactions, prayers, prayer intentions, and messages
Group activity: groups you create or join, shared streaks, reflections, and discussions
Communications: messages you send us, including support requests
Information collected automatically:
Usage information: features you use, content you view, and how you interact with the App
Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and general technical data
Log information: access times and basic diagnostic data
Sensitive content. Some content you choose to share on Jiatte may be personal or sensitive in nature — for example, testimonies, prayer intentions, struggles, or milestones related to faith or personal growth. You control whether to share this content and with whom, according to the visibility settings available in the App. We treat this content with care and do not use it for any purpose other than operating the App and providing the features you have chosen to use.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and maintain your account
Operate, provide, and improve the App and its features
Display your content to the people you choose to share it with
Enable community features such as groups, prayers, and messaging
Keep the community safe, including reviewing reported content and enforcing our Terms of Service
Respond to your questions and provide support
Detect, prevent, and address technical problems, fraud, or abuse
Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising in the App.
4. How Your Information Is Shared
With other users. Content you post is visible to others according to the visibility settings you choose in the App (for example, public posts, group-only content, or private content). Please consider carefully what you choose to share.
With service providers. We use trusted third-party services to operate the App. These currently include:
Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
Mux — video hosting and streaming
Apple — app distribution and related services
These providers process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide services to us.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of any person.
Business transfers. If Jiatte is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and of any choices you may have.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Access and update. You can view and edit your profile and account information in the App.
Delete content. You can delete individual posts and content you have shared.
Delete your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the App or by contacting us at ross.mcc2008@gmail.com. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Communication preferences. You can manage notification settings in the App or on your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and the right to know how your information is used. We honor these rights for all users regardless of location. To make a request, contact us at ross.mcc2008@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising any of these rights.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. After account deletion, we remove or de-identify your personal information, except where retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Content you shared with groups or other users may remain visible to them until they delete it, or as otherwise described in the App.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls provided through our service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential.
8. Community Safety and Moderation
Jiatte provides tools to report content and block other users. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service. Information related to reports may be retained as long as needed to keep the community safe and to enforce our Terms.
9. Children's Privacy
Jiatte requires all users to be at least 16 years old and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 16 has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us at ross.mcc2008@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete the information and close the account.
For users who are 16 or 17 years old, we limit the data we collect to what is needed to provide the App, default to privacy-protective settings where practical, and provide clear controls over what is shared and with whom.
10. International Users
Jiatte is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
